Jim Bruno founded Bruno Financial in 1970. As an Enrolled Agent and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING® professional, he is a seasoned financial services veteran dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve long-term financial confidence. With decades of experience, Jim delivers tax-efficient strategies, retirement planning, estate coordination, and comprehensive wealth management. His work is guided by a client-first philosophy that emphasizes trust, education, and building lasting relationships. He earned a B.S. in Human
Relations & Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. Beyond his professional career, Jim has been deeply committed to public service in the Conejo Valley for more than 40 years. In Westlake Village he previously served as a City Council member, Mayor Pro Tem, and in Thousand Oaks he was a past Chairman of the Planning Commission, the Investment Review Committee, and the Campaign Ethics Reform Committee. Jim was a founding board member for several local organizations, including the Ventura County Boys & Girls Club and the Pacific Youth Football League. He also previously chaired the Community Action for Westlake Stadium (CAWS) for the funding and construction of the Westlake High School stadium. At the State level, he served in Sacramento on the State of California Revenue and Taxation Committee reviewing and advising on tax and finance legislation.
Grounded in integrity and a passion for service, Jim continues to help clients and his community build a secure future for the next generation. Jim lives in Newbury Park with his wife Diane and relishes time spent with his three adult children and six grandchildren.
